Self-Destructing Furniture

One reviewer posted in late August that she had a tough time with Harlem furniture. She purchased her furniture at Harlem Furniture five years ago, and almost immediately felt like she’d been robbed. The furniture as she described it, “self-destructed.”

She described the furniture as using pressboard frames and stuffing that would sag in months, causing the furniture to wear quickly. In only a few months, the furniture began to wear, to the point that it was unusable. She tried to work with the company but was unable to get any support and so, was forced to go elsewhere to buy new furniture.

Of course, it’s hard to fully identify what her experience entailed, or how much work she put in to get help from Harlem to deal with her situation. We just try and provide full information on everyone’s experiences and this is what we’ve seen. Recently, the company has seemed to begin to make amends here though, as a marketing officer contacted the woman and asked to help her amend her situation, so if you do face issues, you should be able to get help if you speak loudly enough.

Delivery Delays

Another comment found in a review about Harlem furniture was trouble with delivery. Having made several orders from Harlem furniture over the course of a year, the reviewer was a fan of the company, but left with a bad taste in their mouths during a number of occasions.

There are definitely some things to watch out for at Harlem Furniture.

The major issue that the reviewer struggled with was the reliability of delivery. Much like visits from the cable company, you never know what’s going to happen when you’re awaiting your delivery. The company would promise one delivery time and they would fail every time to achieve that promise.

Overall, the major issue seems to be if you’re purchasing furniture that you are depending on arriving soon, the company can pose an issue. I’m not sure how often this issue arises, but the person says they were told their furniture would arrive in the first week of August, and by mid-September, they still hadn’t received it. It’s hard to tell the reason for the issue, if the piece ordered was out of stock or had issues that needed repair, but regardless, someone complained about it.
